We have added the early part of this tree, from online sources, to a submitted tree starting several generations down. Although we believe that the general descent from Dorset Downtons is correct, there are clearly date gaps between generations which are at best unlikely

In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records.
