Although the children of William Marks and Ellen are all shown in census returns as having been born in St Helier, there are no baptism records for any of them, and only William, the third born, and Mary, the last, appear in St Helier birth registrations. William and Ellen are both shown as born in England

Although at least two, and perhaps four, of their sons are known to have married Corbin sisters, there are records of only two of these marriages, at St Helier Registry Office, with the absence of full details

Notes and references

This picture of the wedding of Arthur Marks to Jeanne Marie Feuillet, in 1914, also includes Michael Marks and his wife Ellen, nee Corbin, and Mathurin Feuillet. This group photographs suggests very strongly that it was a church wedding, not a Registry Office ceremony. It was not in an Anglican church, so possibly Roman Catholic
