Mother's visit
Princess Alice, the widow of Queen Elizabeth II’s uncle the Duke of Gloucester, visited the Island in 1885. She was the guest of honour at an event at the Grand Hotel to mark the 60th anniversary of Royal Air Force Association Jersey, the first RAFA branch formed. She also visited The Willows and The Limes and met various staff and residents, as well as St John Ambulance Headquarters in Midvale Road. These Jersey Evening Post photographs show some of the highlights of her visit
