Historic Environment Record entry

Listed building

A circa 1850 rural house that retains its exterior features and character.

The house was almost certainly built in 1850 as it is not shown on the 1849 Godfray map but appears in the census in 1851. Originally, it would appear that the house related to Eden Methodist Church to the north, as the census shows the occupants to be William Handcock (Wesleyan Minister) in 1851 and Peter Barbenson (Wesleyan Minister) in 1861.
