Families associated with the property
- Dumaresq: In 1843, Rachel Le Geyt (1807-1880), daughter of Matthieu, Lieutenant-Colonel Militia, married George Dumaresq, who was then a Merchant bur later a Fundholder, a grandson of Sir John Dumaresq, qv. He was, on marriage, living in St Aubin, but the couple were living at the date of the 1851 census at 11, Grosvenor Terrace, St Helier, and in 1861 at Seafield, Millbrook. Forest Hill, judging from Hugh Godfray`s Map of Jersey (1849) had, at that date, yet to be built. It was, however, by the 1860s associated with George and Rachel Dumaresq, but whether they previously owned it, but let it to others, or came to own it by then is unclear: ABSJ V, 371; Hill & Co.`s Historical Directory of the Channel Islands (1874), 272
The 1901 census does not give any clue to who owned the property at the time. Two families were listed as living here:
- Mauger: Farm servant Frank (Francis Peter) Mauger (1864- ) and his charwoman wife Jane, nee Gibaut (1865- ) made up one household with their children Francis (1892- ), Florence (1896- ) and Percy (1899- ). Elsie Ann joined the family in 1903
- Watkins: A second household was made up of postman Charles Watkins (1852- ), his grocery shopkeeper wife Mary Ann, nee Coyde ((1851- ) and their son Reginald (1882- ), also a postman
