German proclamations and orders

German proclamations and orders

From the day they arrived in July 1940, until the day they were kicked out in May 1945, the German occupiers of Jersey issued a barrage of orders impacting on islanders' lives and threatening them with the death penalty for every conceivable offence. This is a representative selection of proclamations published in the Evening Post and Chroniques de Jersey during that time.
