The Halkett Hotel was at the southern end of Halkett Place, formerly Morier Lane, and occupied the site where the States offices, Morier House, now stand. |

In 1887, when this advert was placed in the L'Almanach de la Gazette de Jersey and the hotel was run by John Berrow, his daughter Charlotte Elizabeth married Francois John Le Maistre, a wines and spirits merchant next door, when both were in their fifties.
