The paddle steamer Heather Bell operated between Gorey and Portbail and St Brieuc
It is by no means certain that this is the same Heather Bell which operated between Jersey and France in the 1860s. There were several paddle steamers in operation at the time with this name

The Jersey And Continental Steam Packet Company have purchased a steamer for a new service between Gorey and Portbail and St Brieuc. She is the Heather Bell, built 1858, a 152-Ton steamer which sailed from Burnham in the Bristol Channel to Jersey, arriving at 10 am today.
Heather Bell, a paddle steamer, had two engines with a power of 35Hp.
A trial run took place on 17 July and the service started the next day. The voyage to France took 2 hours 54 minutes.
