Herupe Cottage, St John




There are three houses in the Herupe district of the Vingtaine de Herupe, St John, known as Herupe Cottage or Herupe Farm Cottage. This is the only one which is a listed building and it is in Chemin de Herupe

Valuations

An unidentified Herupe Cottage sold for £95,000 in 2013. Herupe Cottage, Chemin de Herupe, sold for £292,000 in 2003 and £685,000 in 2015. Another unidentified Herupe Cottage sold for £337,500 in 2004

Listed building

A late 17th century single storey cottage retaining some original features and historic character. Also known as Hightor. Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795.

Five-bay, single storey house. Stone chimneys with thatch stones. Stone gable copings and gable stones. Coursed randomly sized rubble. Small extension on easternmost bay. Rear (north) elevation: Slate roof, rooflights. Stone gable copings. Conservatory extension on west side, extension on east side. Stone boundary wall. The house displays Jersey’s vernacular tradition in the use of local materials and details.

Not included, despite it apparently being older than the two Herupe properties which are included
