Origins of surname

Particularly popular in Normandy, this surname was formed by adding the suffix '-et' to the common personal name Hue. There is also a matronymic version Huette

Early records

The first appearance of this surname in Jersey records was the 1761 baptism of Marguerite, daughter of Francois Huet and Marguerite Barbier in St Ouen
