Jersey surnames
P
The most comprehensive list of Jersey surnames ever researched was based on a survey by Charles Stevens in 1970. Depending on the cut-off point in the 20th century, some 2,000 family names have been in use in Jersey over the centuries. Stevens’ survey was never published until Jerripedia discovered it in typescript form, in a bound volume in the Jersey Public Library. See the index page for more information on sources. Names in all capitals were still present in Jersey in 1970. Others had disappeared
