John Hardy

John Le Hardy (1719-1796) was one of two sons of Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Le Hardy to reach a high rank in the Royal Navy

He became a Rear-Admiral, by which time he had changed his name, as did his father, to simply Hardy. His brother Charles became a full Admiral.

Otherwise little is known of Rear-Admiral John Hardy. He produced a Chronological list of the Captains of his Majesty's Royal Navy, 21 Jun 1673-1783 in 1784.
