This small 18th century cottage, with early 17th century origins, retains some historic features and contributes to its rural scenic setting.
Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795.
Main house with modern rear extension: 2 storey, 4 bay. Front (south) elevation: slate roof, stone chimneys with dripstones. Random stone construction with, mostly enlarged, 18th century windows, but 2 windows with 17th century openings. Offset entrance with chamfered stones but a 19th century lintel.
Rear (north) elevation: matches front but half obscured by 20th century extension, evidence of rebuilding at junction with gable.
Gable (west) elevation: small (now blocked) window at first floor level and unusually 10 putlog holes within gable field. Offset entrance, single pile. The interior is open plan but would have originally been 2 cell. It is divided by 3 heavily chamfered beams with run-out stops.
Late 18th century stone fireplace in the west gable, the opposite east gable fireplace was removed in recent years.
