Mid-19th century country house., thought to have been built between 1824 and 1841. Commandeered by the Germans during the Occupation and used a a casualty clearing centre.

In 1947 Mrs Lydia Ann Slous made a claim for wartime damage. She died before the claim could be processed. Damage to her property was estimated at over £800 but the claim was reduced to £85

  • Vautier - Passed down from generation to generation of the Vautier family
  • Bailhache Owned by this family and then the Slous family by marriage
  • Slous - Mrs L A Slous was living here before the Germans evicted her, and made a claim for damage to her property after the Occupation.

Apparently not a listed building, despite its age. Described as a mid 19th century five-bay, two-storey house, double-pile plan. Hipped slate roof with paired chimneys on both sides. Stucco with quoin bands.
