Historic Environment Record entry

Listed building

This 17th century house and its outbuildings creates a cohesive farmstead which contributes to its isolated rural setting. It retains its proportions and character and some historic features. Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795.

The house is considered to date from mid-17th century. The ground floor section of the east outbuilding was built late 18th century and raised to two storeys in 19th century; the western two-bay outbuilding added in 19th century. The extreme two western bays are 21st century. The outbuilding opposite the west outbuildings may date from late 18th century and the pigsties circa 1800.

The significant 17th century features include the fireplaces, the window and door dressings, scratch moulded joists and the plan form.
