- EM 1636 - There is a corbel stone on a gable wall of this substantial Grouville property with this engraving. Its significance has not been discovered, but it not contemporary with the existing building, and probably belonged to an earlier house on the site.

Early house incorporated into modern hotel site. two-storey, four-bay. Roughly squared rubble granite with irregular quoins. Moulded gable stone inscribed . Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795.

A single gable stone with EM 1636 reminds us of a previous house.
