  • The first record we have found of a busines here is Mrs de Caen's grocery in 1874. The business had been taken over by Mrs Lawrence by 1880.
  • Watchmaker J A Le Scelleur was trading here in 1886
  • A Miss Perren was listed here in almanacs from 1890 to 1905; followed by Miss Grey, 1910-1920; R Bisson 1926-1935; J Dore in 1930-1940. It is not clear whether any of these people were trading here, or merely living in the accommodation above the shop
  • In 1941 Elsie Dora Quesnel, née Beaugard (1900- ) was living here
  • From 1950 to 1990 Foots is shown trading here

Listed building

Mid-19th century shop which retains historic character, including Victorian shopfront. Two-storey, two-bay. Pitched tile roof with rendered chimney. Victorian timber shop front with pilasters at each end. Central timber door, mainly glazed with small lower panel and overlight with '28'.
