This page contains portraits of members of the Le Gros family and their relatives. Jean Le Gros (1839-1905) emigrated to Quebec in the 1860s. It appears that he took two family albums with him, containing many photographs taken in Jersey, and then added more in Canada. The albums are now in the possession of his descendant Will Le Gros, who is hoping that more of the portraits can be identified by sending them to us at Jerripedia. We have already been able to find much more detail about some of those whose photographs are in the albums, and hope to make further progress with the help of Jerripedia users

Some of the photographs are contained in an album sold by F and A Rowe, booksellers and stationers of Queen Street, Jersey. Florence Rowe, the founders' daughter, married Jesse Boot, founder of the chain of chemists, later Lord Trent

Maud Le Marquand, born in Hopetown, Quebec in 1884, the dauther of Charles (1849-1907), son of Philippe and Anne Le Gresley; and Alice Rosalie Alexander (1850-1917). Maud married Arthur Blondell Le Gresley (1875-1963) in Quebec in 1903. They later emigrated to the USA

This picture is annotated Messervy and Le Gros. Annie May Le Gros (1872-1913) married Philip Charles Messervy. Is she photographed with her mother? Or are these two images of Annie May, combined by the photographer?
