Early 19th century cottage with some original features surviving and contributing to streetscape character.
One of a number of traditional single-storey fishermen's cottages historically characteristic of the St Clement and Grouville coastal area.
Detached, single storey, three-bay. Pitched pantile roof, brick and rendered chimneys at ends.

- ↑ The name of the house in its postal address is given as two words by HER. The sign on the side of the house shows it hyphenated. If, as seems likely, the house is named after the Normandy coastal town, it should be one word, Portbail. The town's name appears in many Jersey Archive records, almost invariably wrongly spelt as two words
