Families associated with the property

Datestones at both properties show an early association with the Ahier family. In 1881 Sion Villa was purchased by Philippe Vautier, who lived there with his wife Elizabeth, nee de la Haye, for over 20 years. The property later passed through the Prouings, Nicolle and Benest families, to Vernon Benest, whose paternal grandfather William Le Bas Benest, was the founder of supermarket Benest's of Millbrook.
