Talk:Descendants of Jean Hue

There is a long story behind this branch. Jean Hue (1789- ) was not the son of Jean Hue but was the son of Elizabeth Vautier and it was claimed that his father was Amice Hue senior, who died in 1788 (see descendants of Jehan Hue, gen 12). When his brother Amice was lost at sea around 1810 and he claimed the inheritance, it was proven before the Royal Court that he was born too long after the death of his "father" Amice for him to be Amice's biological son. Elizabeth must have had him with another man, possibly her second husband Marett (remarried 1791 St My) but he insisted he was a Hue and retained the name.
