Talk:Descendants of Jean Nicolle and Francoise Machon

I started updating this tree from this generation/couple: 3 Jean Nicolle (1733- ) m (1765, St C) Jeanne Pallot ( - 1816) (St Mn)

I am not at all sure that I agree with the previous generation for Jean, or his birth year. There is a burial ST MARTIN 12 May 1825 - Jean NICOLLE of Le Cotil aged 83yrs.

Therefore born c 1742. The reason I think this is him is that a number of his children have been identified as 'of Le Cotil' in their burial records: Marguerite - 1847 died aged 68yrs (unmd) Jean - 1847 died aged 77yrs Elizabeth - 1849 - 81yrs (unmd) and the final one is Marie BROUARD femme Philippe NICOLLE, of Le Cotil in 1847. Wife of Philippe bapt 1780. Oddly Philippe and his family lived in St Helier (Halkett Place, he was a Draper) but all the family were buried back in St Martin.

Will keep looking to see what I can prove.

Generation 2

Looking at the options that Jean NICOLLE md to Jeanne PALLOT was born c 1742, he could be the son of Nicolas NICOLLE and Elizabeth TOUZEL. I am confident he is the Nicolas NICOLLE described of 'du Rue', along with more generations. If this is correct Jean's brother Nicolas md Marie TOUZEL and their son Jean bapt 1774 has Jean NICOLLE et Jeanne PALLOT as GPs.
