I have done extensive research since 1979 on the Ashelford name from Somerset, beginning in 1688, and I have been in contact over the years with at least five descendants of Francis Ashelford of Jersey, with whom I have shared my research. I believe that this tree has an error.

The tree has the wife of Francis Ashelford of Jersey as Hannah Windeatt. This is an incorrect surname for Hannah. I think it is likely that the George Windcot(t) or Windicot(t), who was in their household in St Helier censuses as a boarder in 1871, 1881, and 1891, was assumed by the tree submitter to be Hannah's father. I do not rule out some sort of family connection, but he was not Hannah's father.

Parish marriage entry: St Helier 24 July 1853

Francis Ashelford (23), bachelor, of St. Helier, b Halse, Somerset, father William Ashelford, married Hannah Bragg (20), spinster, of St Helier, born St Saviour, father Willam Bragg

Hannah was probably in St Helier 1841 census, as Anna: Ann Bragg (indexed Bregg) 35 b England, head of household, with children Stephen, 11, Mary 12, Anna 8, Eliza 6, Jonathon 4 all born Jersey; and St Helier 1851 census, Stephen Bragg, head of household, which included Hannah, Eliza, and Jonathon Bragg.

Francis and Hannah raised their children in St. Helier in the Bible Christian church (Jersey school records, and youngest son Charles became a Bible Christian minister); that is why the family does not appear in Church of England registers of Jersey.
