Talk:Descendants of Mathieu Hocquard (1620)

Jean Hocquard, gen. 6, shown as bp. 1786: I believe he was bp. in 11/1783, son of Abraham Hocquard of L`Abri, St John, and Jeanne Anley, his wife. Such a date agrees better with his age, as stated, on death. Jean owned L`Abri, as did his son and grand-daughter, Henriette. His parents initials are on the house: "AHC.IAL" with the date 1786 or 1780.

Jean`s siblings will thus be Abraham (1780- ), Matthieu (1781- ), Jeanne (1785- ), who married Jean Hamon, Marie (1787- ), Josue (1790- ), Charles (1791- ) of Les Ruettes, St John, who married in 1835 (St J) Betsey Mauger (5 children) and David (1796-1798).

The siblings Jeanne Hocquard, wife of Jean Hamon, described as "Uncle and Aunt" of their godchild, Jeanne bp. 1821, d of the above Jean, and Charles Hocquard and his wife, were godparents of children of Jean.

Earlier generations of this L`Abri line, tie well together, in godparent evidence, to ca. 1660.
