- 4 Pierre de la Place (1650- ) ---1 Stated to be Rector of St Lawrence--not in Messervy`s "List of Rectors." 2 This placement is also questionable as the principal heir of Philippe de la Place, generation 4, who died in 1724, was his nephew, Josue Guille. Had Philippe had a brother, as shown here, then he would automatically, by Jersey law, have been the principal heir. Should he have predeceased Philippe, then his elder son or, for want of such, his eldest daughter, would have been the principal heir. 3 "m Elizabeth Dumaresq"----------the whole entry, including this marriage appears to be a hybrid of Pierre de la Place, generation 1, whose 2nd wife, according to the Armorial, was Elizabeth Dumaresq, and Philippe de la Place, generation 4, who was Rector of St Lawrence.
This was probably a typing, or copy and paste, error. The entry has therefore been removed, on these points, as well as being contrary to the Armorial genealogy.
