Talk:Descendants of Richard Ahier

I have some comments on this tree: 1) The gap between Richard Ahier (1351) and his son Martin (1415) seems to be quite large (64 years). Some on-line trees (admittedly without sources) have Martin (1380 - 1418) with a son Louis (1415- 1495). Louis is then the father of Louis (1440 - 1520).

2) Jean Ahier (1571 - gen. 7) who married c.1585 Miss Valpy not in marriage register. There is a marriage between a Jean Ahier and Marie Valpy in the register, but not until 15/2/1615. I wonder if the Jean who married Marie Valpy was the son of Jean (1571).

Another comment - is there any evidence to support making Pierre Ahier (1825 - generation 15) the son of Philippe and Anne Vaudin. As noted in the tree, there seems to be no baptism record. Looking on Ancestry the only record of a Pierre/Peter in the given timerame is in the 1841 census: Peter Ahier (aged 15) living with Aaron Ahier (80), Philip Ahier (50), Esther Ahier (35), Esther Ahier (15) and Jane Ahier (4) living at 62 Colomberie, St Helier. This would be the Aaron Ahier (1758 - generation 9) on the "Descendants of Lucas Ahier - 2" tree with his son Philip(pe), daughter-in-law Esther Jeanne Gaudin (Philip's second wife) and his grandchildren Esther, Peter and Jane. Admittedly, no relationships are given in the 1841 census but this would seem to be a better fit in the absence of any other evidence.
