Talk:Francois William Balcam

As regards Marie Marche wife of Jean Balcam, I believe she was the daughter of a Philippe Marche, bapt 1736 St Brelade (I don't think there's any proof that she was from Guernsey). Philippe Marche had married in Boston USA 1730, Mary (née Mariner) the widow of a Jeremie Bertaut, and returned to Jersey with a stepson Thomas Berteau and two children Philippe and Marie Marche (the latter as an infant).There is various evidence for this.
