I heard the term "rack line", or "wrack line", meaning high tide line in a news article about beaches in the USA. See https://www.google.com/search?q=%22rack+line%22+tide&lr=&safe=images&as_qdr=all&ei=PUmKYtqyHYKhptQP0sSj-Ao&ved=0ahUKEwiaxbmgqfP3AhWCkIkEHVLiCK8Q4dUDCA4&uact=5&oq=%22rack+line%22+tide, and https://www.google.com/search?q=%22wrack+line%22&lr=&safe=images&as_qdr=all&ei=ckmKYvPbGdiLptQP17Wf8A4&ved=0ahUKEwjz3Ni5qfP3AhXYhYkEHdfaB-4Q4dUDCA4&uact=5&oq=%22wrack+line.

It would be interesting to know if "wrack" is derived from "vraic", which itself may derive from the Germanic term "wrack" (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/vraic -> http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/wrack), which seems to have the same root as "wreck" as in shipwreck (http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=wreck).
