Victoria College war memorial
The imporessive statue of Sir Galahad is the memorial to former pupils of Victoria College who lost their lives during the Great War. Many Old Victorians joined the army as junior Lieutenants and perished while leading their platoons in assaults on enemy positions. The statue's plinth bears no fewer that 129 names of old boys who fell in battle, including several sets of brothers. No Jersey-born members of the British forces were awarded the Victoria Cross during the conflict, but two Old Victorians, William Arthur McCrae Bruce and Allastair Malcolm Cluny McReady-Diarmid were added to three OV Victoria Cross holders from earlier conflicts
