Retired farmer John Messervy (1834- ) was living here with his wife Susanne (1838- ). His farmer son John William (1874- ) and daughter Louisa (1872- ) were in a separate household. John William married farmer's daughter Lydia Billot in 1905.
Other farmers shown in the 1901 census at 'Ville Bree' were William Renouf and Charles Billot
The property appears to have remained in the Billot family, passing to Anne Elizabeth Perchard, nee Billot - see painting below

This is a cohesive farm group. The farmhouse is a fine example of an early 19th century building, with later 19th century farm buildings. It retains its proportions and contributes to its rural setting.
U-shaped farm group with west gables to road. Two-storey, five-bay farmhouse with two-storey, three-bay wing to east. To northeast wing extends over throughway to adjoining two-storey outbuildings running east/west to form U-shaped yard. Detached to north is single storey outbuilding with adjoining pigsties.
