Families associated with the property

  • Bichard: The 1881 census listed Horatio Bichard (38) as a master mariner, with his wife Elizabeth, nee Leat (31) running the grocery with their son Horatio (15). Ten years later Horatio snr appears to have retired from the sea and joined his wife in the grocery business. But the almanac entries below are amgibuous about when Capt Bichard left his life at sea. He is not shown as a sea captain in John Jean's Jersey Sailing Ships, although other members of the family were master mariners from the 16th century onwards

  • 1930 - Bagot laundry
