This family came to Jersey from Devon. It is suggested that the original spelling of the surname was Stawte. The tree, added in 2017, does not start as early, or contain as much detail, as our earlier Descendants of John Statt, which had some content we were not able to substantiate from church records. The two trees, from different sources, largely support each other

In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records.
