Descendants of John Statt

This tree, submitted to us in August 2016 has been added to the site in November 2016. Although the Jersey births/baptisms agree with church records, we are not convinced that it was the same Daniel Statt (generation 5) who married three times in 1844, 1856 and 1872. He would have been aged between 50 and 70 when the seven children of his supposed third wife were born. We believe that we have identified the online tree on which the submitted tree was partly based, and that shows further children supposedly born in St Helier, who do not appear in the parish registers, and they have been omitted from this tree.

In 2017 we received a further tree, Descendants of Daniel Statt from a separate source, which does not go back as far as this one, but tends to support much of its content, including the three marriages of Daniel in 1844, 1856 and 1872, which the contributor assures us are accurate.

However, there are still some unresolved anomalies because the baptism record of Reuben Herbert Statt (1881- ) shows his mother as Mary Ann Pallot, not Morgan Miller as shown in this tree, and as recorded in baptism records of other children

In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records. It is not always possible to carry out such checks on sections of trees with United Kingdom and/or colonial content
