Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records.   1. ↑ William Kingston`s will, dated and proved in 1781 described him as being formerly of the parish of All Saints, Southampton, but then of St Helier, Jersey. Family members mentioned start with his grandson, William Kingston, eldest son of William Kingston. His daughters Susannah Hart, wife of John Le Boeuf, and Elizabeth Hart, wife of Henry Hurd, received £20 and £2 to add to £23 already advanced. His son, John Kingston was appointed executor and left the remainder of the estate: D/Y/A/13 at Jersey Archive
  2. ↑ Of St Helier, formerly of Sarum
  3. ↑ John Kingston, whose will was dated 17 March 1796, appointed his wife executrix and named his eight children, requesting them to equally divide his goods between them. The will was proved in 1805: D/Y/A/16 at Jersey Archive

  6. ↑ His godparents were William Kingston, grandfather, and Jeanne Grossin, widow of Abraham Ahier, grandmother. Jean's will, dated 1812 and proved in 1835 and that of his wife, Marie, nee Binard, dated 1847 and proved in 1849, show them to have died childless. Marie made nearly thirty bequests: D/Y/A/23 and D/Y/A/27/21, respectively, at Jersey Archive

  8. ↑ Blacksmith: Register entry on marriage of his son, John, in 1848. James' will, dated 1807 and proved in 1828, gives his date of death. Moveable property was left to his wife, Marie Cabot, who was appointed executrix. This duty was transferred years later to Thomas de Gruchy in 1846: D/Y/A/21 at Jersey Archive

  15. ↑ Independant: 1841 St Helier Census, living in Dumaresq Street with his wife Jane, a Shopkeeper, aged 50. He had formerly been a Baker. Living next door was their daughter, Jane Kingston, who was of independent means. Francois' will, dated and proved in 1841, named his wife, Jeanne Roussel as executrix, leaving her a fair income for life, with remainder to their two daughters Jane Kingston and Anne Kingston, wife of Elie Rive. It was witnessed by two relatives, Thomas de Gruchy and Philippe Ahier: D/Y/A/25 at Jersey Archive

  17. ↑ William was buried as the son of Francis Kingston and Jane Roussel, his wife. In an earlier version of this tree, English-born William Kingston, a carpenter aged 48 years in 1851, who is not known to have been related, was confused with this William, whose death had been missed
