Historic Environment Record entry

Listed building

Main house two-storey, six-bay. Much altered but some evidence of early property. Gable kneeler to east end dated 1677 (or 1699). In the west ground floor room there is a beam which forks into the north wall. Several niches and blocked windows. Unusual aperture which may be one of the few examples of an opening in the kitchen wall through which waste and scraps could be thrown into the farmyard. [1] Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795.

"Were it not for the gable stone dated 1677 on the roadside, one would not expect to find traces of an old house here."
