Origins of surname
A surname given to a man with blonde hair, this name is found predominantly in the Normandy and Picardy regions of France.
Early records
The name first appears in Jersey in the St Peter birth register in the 1840s, and then in other parishes in the next two or three decades. The family, which originated in Gouey in Normandy, does not appear to have become established in any particular part of the island.

George Le Blond (1864-1920) spent some time working as a police officer in London before joining the Navy in March 1888. He was demobbed in June 1900, and his last ship was almost certainly HMS Racoon, on which he was a Chief Stoker. He married Ada Naomi Bennett, from Kent, in 1909. They had one child, Rosie Adeline (1910–1988). George kept the Prince’s Hotel in Havre des Pas and later owned the West End Hotel in Great Union Road. -
