Maufant

This photograph was taken by Albert Smith, probably at the end of the 19th century

Maufant village is a district on the border of Saint Saviour and Saint Martin. It lies on either side of Grande Route de St Martin, which connects Five Oaks with St Martin's village. Route de Maufant branches off to the north, linking the area to Trinity

Today Maufant is effectively a sprawling collection of housing estates, with very few facilities which constitute a village.

In the first half of the 20th century and earlier it had one of the island's largest brickworks.
