Historic Environment Record entry

Listed building

A rare example of a mid-late 19th century Victorian townhouse with unusual (if not eccentric) decoration.

Two-storey, three-bay mid terrace townhouse. Slate roof, roughcast rendered walls with unusual bark decoration in cement render forming two-storey pilasters at west and east ends of building. Same decoration on door and window architrave surrounds. Once prominent panel of same decoration over door now mostly eroded. Recessed doorway to side with three-panel door with large panel with two-glazed panels over with floral decoration. Overlight with name 'Sabrina' in decorated floral frosted glass. Two-pane sash windows - all with slightly curved heads and horns. Small yard at back with single storey outbuildings on either side.

Interior retains some original features, including staircase with turned newel post. Original timber sash windows and panelled doors throughout.
