History
Two Constables of St Martin have lived at Surville Farm, being Thomas Renouf de Gruchy and his son, Thomas Raymond de Gruchy. The sons of the latter ran the well-known 20th century firm of cattle breeders and exporters, "de Gruchy Bros.," two of them also finding the time to serve their parish as Vingteniers. Their great-grandfather, Thomas de Gruchy (1838-1892), farmed here, in 1881, 19 acres, this being about 47 vergées.

A good example of a mid-19th century farm group retaining original features and integrity. A working farm, many of the outbuildings continue to be used for farming purposes and retain original features connected to that use. [2]
Three-bay, two-storey main house flanked by a single storey extension to the west. At the rear of the property farm buildings form a closed yard with boundary wall. Ruins of brick privy and bakehouse beyond that.
