Talk:A history of Jersey transport - air
Hello Mike, You have some excellent articles about the history of flying and the various airlines involved. However, I think you should mention Channel Island Airways which was the company that ran both Jersey Airways and Guernsey Airways. I don't believe that any aircraft after 1935 flew in anything but Channel Island Airways markings. You can check with Wikepedia or with a book I have called "Wings Over the Channel" by Michael Romain. (You can view it at http://online.fliphtml5.com/psjt/jmvq/). My Dad (Dick Stokoe) joined CIA as a pilot in 1946. He always claimed that he was the last pilot to land a Rapide on the beach at West Park in 1947 when the weather was too bad to land at the airport! Mike Stokoe
