Descendants of Nicolas Tourgis



We have three sources for this tree, added in 2014. The dates given for early generations vary and some are impossible. Suspicious dates have not been ‘massaged’ but have either been ignored or the most likely date from one tree or the other has been used

The tree was reviewed in 2021 and corrections made to names and dates in generation 8, as well as the addition of extra details and further descendant branches

The Tourgis descendant's tree attached at the bottom was sent to us in 2026. We have adjusted this tree based on information in the descendant's tree

In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records.   2. ↑ Sold the inheritance from his grandmother Catherine for the benefit of his children in 1633
  3. ↑ Sold her inheritance from her parents to Thomas Gabourel in 1644, followed by rente in 1646
  4. ↑ Not the first entry in the St Mary parish register, as suggested by the descendant's tree
  5. ↑ Bought in 1665 from Michel Du Pre, of St Mary, a plot of land adjoining his property on the Fief du Roi. Sold rente to Simon de Caen in 1695. In 1720 he conveyed his house and land to his son Symeon and grandson Symeon to be held by them in return for their promise to care for him during his lifetime
