Descendants of Richard Fauvel

Several aspects of this tree are disputed by Descendants of Abraham Fauvel, which was added to the site a year after this tree first appeared in February 2013. The descendants shown here of Charles Fauvel (1714- ) are shown in the other tree as descended from his brother Benjamin, who does not appear in this tree. And whereas the parents of Charles, Benjamin and their siblings are shown here as Francois and Marie Amy, the other tree shows them as Francois’ brother Abraham Fauvel and Marie de Rue.
We believe the newer tree to be accurate, but cannot entirely dismiss the information in this tree, which, from 2025, is no longer being reviewed and updated

Further Fauvel research in 2020 identified a further problem in this tree. We do not now believe that the Philippe shown at generation 7 as the son of Charles and Marie Perchard married Marie Hughes. We think that was a different Philippe and that the son of Charles and Marie married Elizabeth Poingdestre, as shown in a new tree, Descendants of Richard Fauvel - 2

In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records.
