A major revision of this tree has removed the concerns previously expressed about dates and relationships around generations 5 and 6

The tree replaces the now deleted Descendants of Nicolas Hamptonne, Descendants of Laurens Hamptonne and Descendants of Henry Hamptonne

There is some concern about dates in the 17th century and all dates in early generations must be seen as approximate.

de Hamptonne was, in the 16th century, abbreviated to merely Hamptonne. Guy de Gruchy found this surname in early medieval records in both Normandy and England

References to the property Hamptonne are for the St Lawrence property now administered by Jersey Heritage
